The Gospel and Race
This Sunday, in honor of Martin Luther King Day, we will look at the topic of “The Gospel and Race”. I am excited to look at racism through the gospel lenses I drew last Sunday: Cosmic, Communal and Individual. I want us to be a people who glory in the all-encompasing Gospel about our all-encompassing Savior.
The Haytons will be leading in music. Here are the songs we’ll be singing together as a family and Craig’s thinking behind each of them. We wanted to get them out to you so you could be marinating in this stuff and come prepared to worship. Hope it helps!
- All Creatures Of Our God And King. All of creation belting out God’s praises in a kind of creational unity, as it was meant to be and will be some day.
- Holy Holy Holy. (a fallen people praising God, who alone is good, right and perfect…in power, in love and in purity)
- In Christ Alone. Not in merit. Not in race. In Christ alone.
- The Wonderful Cross. The Wonderful unifying force of the cross!
- Sing To The King. God’s people united, singing expectantly to King Jesus for Him to make all things new.
(If you are unfamiliar with any of the songs, click the title and it will take you to a YouTube video of the song.)
