What is the main point of Luke 24?
Hopefully, you answered something like this, “Jesus is alive. He is not dead, but has resurrected. And the whole Bible points to Him!”
If you didn’t, read Chapter 24 again.
If you did, let’s move on. We aren’t just trying to punt and not have you study Chapter 24 this week. But we want to do something different this week as we finish up on our study in Luke and prepare for our study in Acts, Luke’s Part 2. We want to give you an opportunity to look back through the Book of Luke. Notice the themes. See the contours. Be challenged by the message.
Let’s read through the entire book in 6 days this week. That is 4 chapters a day. You can do it! Each day, you will read 4 chapters. Then, the Study Guide will utilize some of our Missio Dei DNA to help you process Luke into your life.
Monday Luke 1-4.
Luke 1-4 is comprised mainly of things that Jesus did before he started his public ministry. Think about the True Story. These chapters are the beginning of Act 4: Redemption. As you read through Luke 1-4 what elements and themes does Luke pull in that remind you of the first three Acts (Creation, Fall, Promise)
Tuesday Luke 5-8
Today’s reading starts out with the calling of the first disciples. Jesus does not waste any time in showing the disciples what life in His Kingdom is all about. It is lived with different priorities and in different rhythms. Where do you see the BLESS rhythms coming out in these chapters?
Bless
Listen
Eat
Speak
Sabbath / Celebrate
Wednesday Luke 9-12
“I know of no church in America that actually expects obedience from its people.” This penetrating quote from Nathan Lutz highlights the reality that we so often read the Bible or hear the Bible taught, but so rarely put it into practice in our lives.
What is one verse or passage from these chapters that hits you hard as you read it. Choose one. Then, decide how you are going to obey it today.
Thursday Luke 13-16
In these Chapters Jesus goes toe to toe with the Pharisees. The term “Pharisee” has become almost synonymous with “Religious” and “Legalist”. As you read through these Chapters, keep the following grid in mind. Where do you see each coming out?

Friday Luke 17-20
As you read, how do you see the 4 Gospel Identities (Family, Learners, Servants, Missionaries) emerge in the story? How does Jesus’ parables and teachings illustrate them? How do his enemies miss them?
Saturday Luke 20-24
What is your idol?
What idols tend to grab a hold of your heart?
What lies are you believing?
What vies for your affections?
Whatever your answer to any of these questions, the remedy is Jesus. And here, in these last 4 chapters of Luke, Jesus is presented in high definition. As you read through these chapters today, be asking the question, “How is this Jesus the True Savior my heart is looking for rather than my failing idol?
